The customer’s challenge to Brunson was to build an instrument platform could reach great heights but was still incredibly sturdy–any slight motion would not just result in bad measurements, but, possibly, bad aerodynamics. That would not be acceptable. And the platform would need to raise and lower easily to different heights. And the entire tripod would need to be mobile, movable around the vehicle to shoot from different angles.
